Some Testimonials
Hi Coach!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME TODAY
– I’m 56. Never felt
better or stronger
– owe it all (no joke) to
racelab. THANKS. K.T.
I just wanted to take a minute to
let you know how much this weekend meant to me. racelab's
members, and you in particular, have encouraged
me beyond my wildest expectations. I never would have imagined that I could
run a 10K. As I passed the 5 mile marker, I was running down the main road
with the biggest cheesy grin on my face-- I simply couldn't believe that I
had gone that far. I started laughing to myself as I realized my smile was
so big that the people driving by probably thought I was crazy :) I grew up
in front of a tv and
was the embarrassed kid in PE class, so I developed the mentality that I
simply was unable to accomplish such things. I've been slowly trying to turn
that defeating mindset around, and racelab has
helped immensely. Tim runs with me and won't let me stop because even though
I think I can't go anymore, he knows I can. You were sincerely excited for
me, someone you hardly know, and it made my accomplishment feel like so much
more. Even though I haven't been to very many functions, racelab's members
have been so positive and supportive it is amazing. I didn't train even a
fraction of what I had planned, but everything turned out okay. And when I
came across the finish line & you came up to me cheering me on, hugging me,
introducing me to other Racelab members-- that began hugging me too, LOL-- I
can't describe how wonderful I felt. So, I just wanted to give you a
heartfelt THANK YOU.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Taul-
Thanks for your cheers at the
end. They always help me run faster. I am so proud to belong to such a
great organization as racelab. My running has improved greatly since
joining. Thank you!
Linlie Roberts-
“I feel that racelab was
very professional and did an excellent job of making the training program
one that ensured success of each person. I feel they have a genuine concern
for each person’s safety and success. I will continue my training with
Racelab.”
Lea Ann Fergusson-
“racelab made all the
difference…beginning with the inspiration in the first place, then the
quality of the coaching, and finally the personal caring in the end. They
are beyond excellent.”
Merrill Moss-
“You guys are awesome
coaches! I want to work with you after I do my first marathon! As a personal
trainer I have learned so much about goal setting and training! I cannot
believe that I can run 20 miles...suffering through the last 5 or so and
feel this good the next day!! WOW!”
Colleen Travilcy
“I want to thank you for
all your help. I really hated running in the past, and you have played a
big part in my achieving something I thought I would never do!! Thank you
again!!!”
Vickie Shagena
“I met the racelab
coaches, Gus and Bettina Warnholtz through a UCP fundraiser I did last
fall/winter. I was a member of the UCP Dream Team that fundraised, trained
and traveled to Monaco to run a marathon. These two coaches were so
wonderful (both on a fitness & personal level), they have got me totally
addicted to running, and I have already begun training for my next
marathon.”
Krista Everett
“I saw you (racelab
coach) today as I crossed the finish line of the Desert Classic 1/2
marathon! Yes I finished and it was a great deal in part because of you. I
always thought of you all running along the canal and that along with your
emails kept me going. You are wonderful and you have a wonderful
organization that helps others reach their goals! Thanks again....I am so
proud of myself and I couldn’t have done it without you!!”
Tanya Gabrick
“I LOVED the workout this
am...racelab coaches (Gus and Bettina) are SO NICE! I was the 2nd from the
SLOWEST. One girl is training for an IRONMAN, one girl, the Boston Marathon
in April, and then some fast guys...I averaged about a 1:57 per lap...so
right around a 4 minute 1/2 mile. It was hard...the interval being faster
than the tempo...I could totally feel my legs after about 20 minutes...but I
was able to keep my pace consistent, but with all those fast people, I sure
did feel SLOW...I am SO happy I joined this group. THANK YOU so much for
telling me about it!”
Natalie Shaw
“Thanks Bettina! I just
can't tell you enough how much you and Racelab have become so important to
me! Thanks for all you do for all of us!”

“My wife and I are in our
middle 50’s, until recently with little running experience. Nevertheless, we
attempted our first marathon in November, 2001 (in Monaco) under the
guidance of Racelab.
The owners of Racelab,
Bettina and Gus Warnholtz, are an extraordinary couple. Not only are
they and their support, team experts in the field of sports performance, but
they are also good at dealing with the quirks and foibles of people. Perhaps
most importantly, they work with a positive attitude and an inspiring sense
of high personal integrity -- characteristics all too rarely seen and thus
even more appreciated these days.
In the course of our
training they helped us work through everything from soft tissue injuries to
self-doubts. They could have done much less, and stayed within their
contract. Instead, they repeatedly went beyond the minimum required, doing
whatever it took to help us reach our goal and have a good marathon
experience. We finished the marathon uninjured and in an exquisite state of
ecstasy – which we gratefully credit to Racelab.”

of Race Lab.”

race results from the YMCA South Mountain run...26:08.I just wanted to thank
you and Gus for all your advice, training workouts and time. Thank you!!!”

Gus & Bettina, just
wanted to thank you for all the support/coaching over the past several
months - I ran the New Times 5K last weekend in 19:41 (breaking 20 minutes
which was my goal). Feels good to hit a goal once in awhile & wanted you
guys to know.

Thank you both very much
for everything you have done for the Lost Dutchman Marathon over the last
two years. From my perspective, your positive, upbeat manner of conducting
yourselves along with your willingness to help in any way you can is a great
model for behavior in the running community. It is so comforting to know
that you are there when we need art work, brochures prepared, or training
support. You go above and beyond with your expo attendance, and by providing
a great aid station at every event. Also, thank you so much for bringing
Javier Espejel and Enrique Hernandez to this year’s event. They are really
something! They brought the level of competition and the class of the event
up a few notches. Thank them again for me and I hope they will come back
next year to defend their titles.
I look forward to working
with you in planning next year’s event.
Sincerely,
Grady McEachern
