Racelab prides itself on the high level of personalization that goes into creating your Training Schedule. Each training plan is designed according to the athlete’s goals and needs. We take your strengths and weaknesses into consideration and work with you to improve your skills, form and technique. Your training plan is carefully revised and adjusted according to your progress. We realize that you have a busy life and will plan your training to make sure you reach your goals successfully, happily and injury free.
UNLIMITED CONTACT WITH YOUR COACH
Unlike other training programs that only allow one phone call per week/month, Racelab offers UNLIMITED contact with your coach via phone, email, or text. We believe that this is the only way to make your training 100% individualized and effective. Communication is crucial if you want to keep progressing and stay injury free. We are there if you have questions, concerns or just want to talk about your training.
HEART RATE TRAINING / ANALYSIS
Each training session in your schedule has a specific purpose and is meant to be performed at a certain intensity level. Heart Rate is, by far, the most accurate measure of intensity. A VO2 Max Test measures different thresholds, energy utilization, metabolic testing and other important data. Your results help us determine YOUR own Heart Rate zones and allow us to design a more detailed, efficient and personalized training plan. (VO2 Max Test is not included in price – Racelab members receive a discount!)
Racelab’s Coached Workouts focus on form, technique, pacing and speed. They are structured in a way that allows any level of athlete to participate and benefit from them. Coaches are there to offer constant feedback and instructions to improve your skills. They are offered at top facilities that are conveniently located across the valley. These sessions give you quality face-to-face time with your coach and other Racelab members. They are challenging, fun and highly motivational.
The Racelab Group Workouts include, but are not limited to organized long bike rides, long runs, trail runs and open water swims. These workouts are facilitated by Racelab staff but are not “coached”. Racelab takes care of all logistics and provides SAG wagon support for pre-determined bike rides. Locations change every week to add variety, keep it fun and make it convenient for anyone! Safety first!!
Training is not enough. It’s incredibly important to apply that training through a sound race strategy. Before your big event, your Racelab coach will work with you to create your Race Strategy. This will cover everything from nutrition (before/during/after) and your Heart Rate zones, to what to wear and Mental Readiness. We’ve got you covered. This is what you’ve been working towards and Racelab will be there to make sure you’re ready.
There are many events, in the Phoenix area and out of State, which a lot of Racelab athletes sign up for. For these events, Racelab will offer “Race Support”. We’ll make sure you have the support that you need to make it a successful race. Depending on the event, racelab may provide a tent for before and after, course support, packet pick-up assistance, EXPO presence, help with transition set-up, and a substantial amount of OVERLY ENTHUSIASTIC CHEERING! In addition, there are several “Out-of-Town” races where Racelab will help organize accommodation, meals, bike transport, etc.
Racelab offers a large variety of clinics covering every aspect of your endurance training. Years of experience and research have made these presentations highly informative, thorough and applicable to all levels. Race Nutrition, Heart Rate, Principles of Training, Mental Toughness & Race Strategy; just to name a few! They are held at various locations throughout the valley on a regular basis. Racelab’s Coached Training Sessions are a wonderful opportunity to work on your form and technique. They are geared towards all levels and challenge everyone present. If you cannot attend the Group Coached sessions, or need or want a more personal setting, or if you require more attention that is given in the group setting, your coach is available to give you private sessions in running, swimming or biking. We’ll make sure to find a time that works for you!
Racelab offers Unlimited contact with your coach via phone and email. But if you would like to sit down and further discuss anything on your mind (future races, goals, your schedule, etc), you can! Again, we can arrange a time that is convenient for you!
SOCIAL / TEAM EVENTS
One of the most enjoyable perks of Racelab is the Team Environment. Racelab regularly plans and organizes social Get-Togethers that allow you to spend down time with friends. These events range from Happy Hours and Bowling to Charity work and Team trips and much more.
