Tim Claus - Mountain Biker
Tim grew up in Houston, TX riding BMX bikes. He joined the Navy in 1999 and was stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI for six years, where he spent most of his free time playing in the ocean and enjoying the sun.
In 2006, Tim moved to Phoenix where he found the great outdoors and all the wonders it has to offer. A few years later, he got hooked on Mountain Biking and started participating in Endurance events such as 24 Hours of Fury, 24 Hours in Old Pueblo, the Whiskey Row Off-Road, Dawn to Dusk, etc.
His hobbies now include Mountain Biking, Road Cycling, Canyoneering, Adventuring, and other Epic stuff... :)
"Mental fortitude is key when you're out on your own, in the wilderness, and trying to accomplish what the average person thinks can't be done. I've found through pursuit of the next greater challenge that my strength lies within the endurance arena. If it takes longer than people want it to and looks more difficult than normal people want it to be then I am usually drawn to the challenge.
I was introduced to Racelab in 2013 and I instantly fell in love with the team. The Racelab family shattered all of my preconceived notions of what an endurance athlete is and should be. I knew within the first hour of the first track practice that I had to become part of this team and that we would do great things together. Racelab helped me knock out my first triathlon at a half-Ironman distance with a time of 5:22:01 which landed me at 18th in my age group."
